WHAT ARE CMOCC's CORE TENETS?
10 Core Tenets - Building Professional, Healthy, & Confident Men
Education: CMOCC will prioritize education* as a key tenet of the organization, and provide members/community with hands-on, interactive learning experiences across all organization focus areas.
Mental Health/SEL: CMOCC will promote men's health and wellness by providing members with access to a safe environment to discuss, grow, and improve quality of life with strategies to improve mental health.
Social Mobility: CMOCC promote individual improvement in all three phases of social mobility:
Intragenerational Mobility: Change in social status over a single lifetime.
Vertical mobility: Movement of individuals or groups up or down from one socioeconomic level to another, often by changing jobs or through marriage.
Horizontal mobility: The movement from one position to another within the same social level.
Sustainability: CMOCC will incorporate sustainable practices into all aspects of the organization including, but not limited to membership, programs, and partnerships.
Community Involvement: CMOCC will involve the community in the organization through volunteering, events, and other activities, with the goal of fostering a sense of community ownership and pride towards community manifestation.
Brotherhood Stewardship: CMOCC will educate members and the greater community of men about the importance of this collaborative and their role in contributing to the organizations mission and vision.
Corporate Engagement: CMOCC will seek out and build relationships/partnerships with all companies that mission aligns with our core tenets in support minority males achievement.
Partnership & Collaboration: CMOCC will identify mutually beneficial partnerships that align with our mission and vision.
Youth Professionals Fellowship Program: YPFP is collecting a listing of paid and unpaid internships to help teens and young adults ages 19-29 build their skills during the summer.
Rehabilitation Programs for Adult Male Offenders: This program is designed to reduce recidivism among adult offenders by improving their behaviors, skills, mental health, social functioning, and access to education and employment.
